State Attorney’s Office

Victim/Witness Liaison Office

954-831-6205 or 954 831 6202

The Victim/Witness Liaison Office was created to serve the needs of those victims and

witnesses who are called upon to testify in criminal court cases.

If you are a victim or witness of a criminal case filed here in Broward County you may

receive a subpoena to appear in Court. Your subpoena will provide you with information

about the case, advise you what time and where the court hearing will be held and assist

you in receiving your witness fee. Save your subpoena and bring it with you if you must

appear in Court.

The Victim/Witness Liaison Office can help by …

Providing complimentary parking in the Witness/Juror parking garage located on the

northeast corner of 3rd Avenue and 6th Street for those witnesses who have been

requested to appear at the Broward County Courthouse (201 SE 6th Street, Ft.

Lauderdale, FL 33301). Follow the signs for the witness/juror parking garage. Once

parked and cleared security, take your ticket to the Witness Liaison office (Rm 478) for

validation prior to your scheduled court appearance.

Placing the victim/witness on telephone standby to avoid unnecessary courtroom

appearances if so designated by the Court.

Assisting victim/witnesses in solving problems caused by the necessity of court

appearances.

Providing personal escort services for the victim/witness upon their arrival at the

courthouse if needed.

Providing information about various social service agencies which may be available to the

victim in Broward County.

Expediting the return of stolen property of victims of crime if approved by the Court.

Notifying the victim/witness of the outcome of the case.

Providing qualified victim/witness coordinators to answer questions and explain

courtroom procedures the victim or witness may have.

If you have a disability requiring special accommodation, please call the telephone

number on your subpoena five business days prior to your court appearance.

If you are hearing impaired, you may call via Florida Relay Service at 1-800-955-

8770.
